Paul Williams Sr. was a man who left an indelible mark on the hearts of all those who were fortunate enough to know him. Born in Providence Rhode Island on February 2nd, 1956, & Departing in the early dusk hours on March 25th, 2024 with his wife and grandchildren at home. Paul's life was one filled with love, laughter, and unwavering dedication to his family.
Raised on Paige Street in Schenectady, New York, it was there that he met the love of his life and best friend from childhood, Jeannette. Their bond blossomed into a beautiful romance as high school sweethearts and eventually led to a lifelong partnership built on mutual respect and deep affection.
After completing his education in the Schenectady school district, Paul embarked on a journey of love and commitment with Jeannette. Together they bought their first home in the 1980s where they raised their children before moving to Woodlawn later in the near future of 1992. It was here that they poured their hearts into nurturing and supporting their beloved grandchildren.
It was here in Schenectady, whereas a young man Paul became a member of the Young Blood Group Association; founded by Gary Chaire’s.
A man of many talents and passions, Paul excelled as a martial artist holding a black belt in Taekwondo while also sharing his knowledge by training young students in the Boys & Girls Club. His Instructor,
Mr.Vrooman also played key role in Paul’s education and experience.
His musical inclinations brought joy not only to himself but also to those around him through his involvement in a garage band with close friends.
His faith played an integral role in shaping his character as he faithfully attended church seeking solace and guidance from God throughout his life's journey. A dedicated family man at heart, he took immense pride in driving his loved ones across New York State while creating cherished memories along the way.
Looking back into Paul’s past work life, Paul's work ethic shone brightly during his years at Scotia Glendale Nursing Home where he made significant contributions until retiring in 2016 after which he worked passionately for 4-5 years assisting his nephew and his team doing construction, “Supervising them to say”.
In addition to being deeply devoted to Jeannette; Paul held great admiration for each member of his family including Linda Murphy-Williams (his last & surviving sister), Pamela Fulton (sister in-law) Donna Chapman (Sister in-law), Ester B. Williams (deceased mother), Paul Williams Jr. (Oldest son), Cory J Williams (deceased youngest son),
Newmarr Williams (Oldest grandchild) Josiah Williams (Middle Grandchild) Nessiah Williams ( Youngest Grandchild)brothers & sisters-in-law; and numerous nieces & nephews whom he cherished dearly.
An avid enthusiast for lotto tickets & scratch-offs coupled with an affinity for watches & jewelry; cooking alongside Jeanette brought immeasurable joy into Paul’s life especially when preparing meals together for their grandkids whom he adored unconditionally ensuring they remained closely bonded regardless of distance or the circumstance.
Despite facing numerous health challenges over recent years; Paul faced them head-on displaying remarkable strength until finally finding peace at home surrounded by loved ones on March 25th ,2024.
He is survived by Wife Jeanette Williams; Sons: Paul Davis Jr.
Cory Williams (deceased), Grandchildren: Newmarr Williams, Josiah Williams, Nessiah Williams & Grand daughter in-law, Kasara Oppedisano.
The funeral service will be held at Refreshing Spring Church located within Schenectady NY community where our extended gratitude extends towards everyone offering support during this difficult time. In lieu flowers we kindly request donations be directed towards Refreshing Springs Community Church.
Though we mourn the loss of such an extraordinary soul , let us take comfort knowing that heaven has gained another angel watching over us all.
The home going celebration to which relatives and friends are invited to attend will be held on Wednesday, April 3,2024 12:00 noon at Refreshing Springs Community Church 327 Georgetta Dix Plaza Schenectady, New York 12307
Calling hours will proceed the service beginning at 10:00 a.m.
