Candace J Kirby-Robinson 11/2/1951 – 11/22/2023
Candace passed away Wednesday, November 22nd after a short illness. She was born in Portland, Maine to Herman Kirby and Helen Cameron. The family relocated to Gloversville, where she grew up. She attended St. Mary’s in Gloversville and Bishop Burke High School in Amsterdam. After moving to Schenectady, she attended and graduated from Schenectady County Community College for Chemical Dependency. Over the years, she worked for various organizations in the Capital District as an addictions counselor before retiring.
She is predeceased by both of her parents, two of her brothers: Richard Kirby, Gene Kirby, and Diane VanSlyke-Smith. She is survived by five siblings: Gordon Kirby (Gwen), Sheila Caminiti (Santo), Debbie Perna (Richard), Neil Kirby (Shirley) and Michelle Bannerman (John); four children: Desiree Railine, Jason Fillmore (Nicole), Alia Fillmore, and Noah Robinson; eight grandchildren: Shaman Railine, Oriana Fillmore, Mercedes Fillmore, Jentri Fillmore, Jerric Fillmore, Justin Dunn, Ayanna Robinson, and Alyssa Snyder; eight great-grandchildren; and plenty of others that considered her their “Nonni” also.
The family is honoring her last wishes and will not be holding services for her. For those that wish to say good-bye, please do it the Candace way: crank the music, pour a glass, and party it up. Please celebrate her; don’t mourn
Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Curtis Funeral Home & and Cremations ,Schenectady.
